Hello to you and you and you

Why hello there, geez, I've been sorta absent lately from my blog. I haven't had much time lately to work on crafts or sewing stuff, hence no crafty tutorials or sewing show offs to post!

So what else has been going on? Let's see. I had a big huge work dinner to plan. The dinner was last Sunday evening and it went swimmingly and I wore an adorable dress!

My and my darling husband; we both look kinda dorky. Oh well, we're dorks together.
We had 400 guests there (yowzers!) and I got up in front of all of them and spoke briefly and wasn't nervous at all - once it came time to actually get up on stage, that is. I had myself all freaked out beforehand but once it came time to it, I was fine. Three cheers for self confidence! I credit my cute dress, curly hair, freshly waxed brows and fancy manicure!

See, proof I was on stage, ha!
I worked a lot of overtime for the dinner and many weekends, so I haven't really made anything for awhile. I have lots of ideas and lots of projects on the horizon though. Because I worked so many hours I was able to take yesterday and today off work. I had plans to sew and do all sorts of stuff but I've basically just been sleeping! Hah! I sure do love my sleep. If left to my own devices I could seriously sleep all day. That's kinda sad. I have gotten a few things done though.

I'm currently working on making up some of these super cute dolls! I got the idea from Rachel of Sewn Studio - check out her post here. The fabric is from Suzy Ultman, a designer I really admire. Check out her adorable web site here and her Etsy shop!

I bought a little more than a yard of the doll fabric and have more than a dozen dolls to stitch up. I'm currently adding embroidery details to each of the dolls. We'll have dolls all over the place!

Also, I've signed myself up for three swaps/craft challenges this month!

First up, I am participating in a Blue Print Social Campaign in partnership with Handmade Charlotte Stencils. I can't reveal anything about that campaign right now ~ I'll post a tutorial later this month.

Secondly, I'm participating in the Handprinted Fabric Swap that I blogged about previously. I'm going to make a quarter yard of fabric for four different ladies. I have some ideas up my sleeve and I'll share more when I make the fabric. {The most awesome thing is that my bestie Amber is participating in both the Stencil Challenge and the Fabric Swap too, yay!}

Lastly, I'm participating in the Covert Robin handmade gift swap! I am making a gift for someone and in return I'll get a handmade gift. Fun! I have no idea yet what I'll be making!

So I guess I need to get working!

What are you working on? What are you doing this weekend?

I was going through some old photos of the girls this evening and came across these gems:

The cheeks!! Their bright eyes and big grins make me smile.

 Isn't it amazing how much my girls have grown up? They are getting so big. I miss them in footie PJs ... but then again I love the little ladies they are becoming.

This video cracks me up - they're hopping like bunnies and I think they have candy or food in their mouth. This was right around Easter when they were 2 and a half years old.
