My girls' teachers have been awesome this year! The girls have had a great school year and have learned so much and have had a bunch of fun. I wanted to make something nice for their teachers so I decided to make them tote bags. I found a pattern at JoAnn Fabric's and some really cute coordinating fabric.
Model Lydia. This bag was for her teacher.
The bags have a tie enclosure.
A little pocket inside!
I decided to call them "totes" instead of purses because I didn't want to make them feel like they had to carry them as purses - some women are particular about their purses - and the bags turned out big enough and are versatile enough they could be used as purses or bags. The teachers LOVED them! Lydia's teacher told her that while the students were at recess she emptied out her purse and put all of her stuff into the new purse! Arlene's teacher told her she's going to use the bag when she goes to the pool this summer; it will hold her water bottles and books. Yay!
This one was given to Arlene's teacher.
The handles tie at the top.
I loved the pattern and the fabric of the bag I made for Lydia's teacher so much that I made myself the same bag!

Me! Me! Share the pattern!
These are super cute! And made me remember that I totally have a tote tutorial. I should make one... perhaps for A's dayhome lady who JUST had a birthday. Thanks, as always, for the crafty inspiration!!!
