I'm a fan of Scandinavian design - I like the bright bold colors, the simple shapes and big flowers. I dig a bunch of artists on Etsy who create things with a Scandinavian style.
For example, this bird print.
And also, this screen printed tulip fabric. I cannot get enough of the fabric! I love it a lot. I have my eye on it for a skirt! You can't get any more 'Scandi' with those big bright bold tulips.
One of my all-time favorite textile designers who uses Scandi-like design in her work is Lucie from Summersville. In fact the design featured above is called "Scandi." I have purchased her fabrics over the years to make into dolls. She has been given the muchly deserved great honor of having her fabrics printed by Moda! Now I can buy her work by the yard. I plan to do so. Many yards. Check out her shop here.
Bird plush - I like this little birdie.
And finally to end my Scandinavian-inspired round up, are these wonderfully illustrated coasters. I purchased Christmas cards with a similar design a couple years ago.
What inspires you?
